Description:
Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Firmware Engineer III to contribute to the development of new and modified EEG device software systems that meet application, business, customer, and regulatory requirements.
The role involves working in the Device team, reporting to the VP of Device Systems, and collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineers.
Responsibilities include design, development, testing, and documentation of device software to ensure the highest quality and reliability.
The engineer will collaborate with Design, Research, Manufacturing, and Quality colleagues to develop software and troubleshoot design issues.
Design iterations will be incorporated during development to enhance product quality and reliability, ensuring the best user experience.
At the end of the design cycle, the engineer will perform testing to verify that the product meets its intended design requirements.
Documentation of design must comply with applicable product development processes, Quality, and Regulatory requirements.
The position offers a robust remote work experience, with optional in-person office hubs in Boston, New York, and Paris.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of work experience with a BS degree or 3+ years with an MS degree, specifically in developing real-time embedded firmware in C.
The ability to read and follow electrical schematics is essential.
Knowledge of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS) is required.
Proficiency with tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence, and platforms like GitHub is necessary.
Candidates should be proficient in scripting languages, particularly Python.
Knowledge of design controls and regulations for medical device development is preferred.
