Description:

Beakon is seeking a founding AI/ML Engineer to establish the architecture and processes for their technology platform.
The role involves utilizing AI/ML to extract real-time threat signals from large datasets, including news, social media, and police radio.
Responsibilities include driving the technical vision, ensuring a scalable and maintainable architecture, and making key technology decisions.
The engineer will be responsible for hands-on development, building and shipping core features with clean, efficient, and well-tested code.
The position requires designing resilient, fault-tolerant systems that can handle mission-critical workloads and implementing best-in-class security practices.
The engineer will also lay the groundwork for scaling the product and engineering team, mentoring, and hiring top engineering talent.
Challenges include using AI/ML to extract insightful threat signals from massive datasets and managing enterprise physical security with generative AI agents.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
Fluency in one or more modern programming languages, such as Python or JavaScript, is required.
Candidates should be fluent in cloud provider platforms.
Preferred qualifications include experience at an early-stage startup or as an early engineer on a major project.
Strong applied AI/ML fundamentals, including knowledge of Langchain, model fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic frameworks, are preferred.
