Description:

Huzzle is seeking a Founding Software Engineer (Backend) to help define and build the company’s tech backbone.
The role involves leading development in two core areas: the backend API that powers the web platform and the robust RAG pipelines supporting AI capabilities.
This position is ideal for ambitious engineers who desire high ownership, technical depth, and a significant role in shaping a category-defining product.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining high-performance backend systems, leading the development of asynchronous, queue-based pipelines for AI audit functionality, and helping architect safe, scalable RAG systems.
The engineer will contribute to backend features related to user management, authentication, and internal tools, and participate in experiments, prototype evaluations, and data analysis.
The role also involves influencing product and technical decisions as a core member of the founding team and supporting infrastructure work and CI/CD using Terraform and cloud platforms like GCP.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong experience in backend development using Python.
Familiarity with at least one statically typed language such as Go, Rust, Java, or C# is required.
A solid understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL is necessary, with hands-on SQL experience preferred over ORMs.
Experience in designing and consuming clean, scalable APIs is essential.
Familiarity with asynchronous systems, including pipelines, workflow engines, and task queues, is required.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and deployment to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure is necessary.
Experience in B2B SaaS environments with exposure to authentication systems, user management, and internal operations tooling is required.
Candidates must be based in Germany and available to work full-time in Central European Time (CET).
Nice-to-have qualifications include prior experience in startups or founding teams and exposure to RAG pipelines or AI-driven systems.

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from €80,000 to €140,000 per year, depending on experience.
