Description:
The Motley Fool is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Backend Developer with strong Python skills.
The ideal candidate will work on AI integration initiatives, developing AI-based prototypes that can be automated to production-grade solutions.
This is a senior-level contract role requiring a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
The position is an independent contract role requiring approximately 40 hours of work per week for at least 12 months.
The role is 100% remote, but candidates must be located in the United States for consideration.
The team focuses on integrating cutting-edge AI and ML technologies into operations, creating AI prototypes for automation.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of development experience.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in cloud-based development is required.
Experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and API Gateway is essential, with a particular interest in serverless architecture.
Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is necessary for automated and reproducible infrastructure setups.
Experience with Docker is required.
Strong online collaboration and communication skills are crucial for a fully remote working environment.
It is a plus to have experience with front-end technologies, notably React or Next.JS.
A passion for long-term investing and/or familiarity with The Motley Fool’s tools and services is advantageous.
Data Engineering experience is also considered beneficial.

The hourly pay range for this position is between $80 - $110 USD.
