Description:

The Freelance Data Scientist will support clients in commercial and marketing analytics, healthcare utilization, clinical outcomes analysis, and AI/ML applications in digital health.
The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to define business problems, determine appropriate data and methods, build and execute analyses, and present results to stakeholders.
Responsibilities include finding innovative ways to balance business goals with statistical and data constraints, collaborating with data scientists and senior leaders, brainstorming new ideas, designing experiments, and visualizing findings.
The role involves writing and documenting analysis scripts in Python and SQL, extracting insights using various methods, guiding data science project structure, and presenting results to teams and clients.
The candidate should be comfortable and enthusiastic about integrating AI into their work.

Requirements:

An undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, bioinformatics, physical sciences, or a related quantitative field is required.
A solid understanding of statistics and experimental design is necessary.
Demonstrated experience working with data, including knowledge of bias, error, confusion, power, and significance, is essential.
Familiarity with industry-standard languages and tools for data analysis, particularly the Python ecosystem (numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn) and SQL, is required.
Working familiarity with git and the command line is necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to convert technical results into data stories.
The ability to work independently on smaller projects and collaborate on larger projects with data scientists, engineers, developers, consultants, and strategists is essential.
A demonstrated aptitude for continual learning and growth is required.
