Description:

• The Motley Fool is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Data Architect specializing in Snowflake to join their team on an independent contract basis.

• The Data Democratization, Governance & Strategy team focuses on making data accessible and actionable for all business end-users.
• The role involves re-architecting and optimizing the reporting layer of the Snowflake data warehouse to improve cost efficiency and compute optimization.
• Responsibilities include evaluating and optimizing the reporting layer, developing strategies to improve query performance, and collaborating with the data engineering team.
• The contractor will utilize advanced analytic engineering techniques, design efficient data models, and implement best practices for data loading and retrieval.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have proven experience working with Snowflake data warehouse, including optimization projects.
• Strong expertise in analytic engineering techniques within Snowflake, such as query optimization, indexing, and partitioning, is required.
• A deep understanding of Snowflake's architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage optimization, and clustering keys, is necessary.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling for Snowflake is essential.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline optimization is required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues are necessary.
