Description:

The Motley Fool is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Data Architect specializing in Snowflake to join their team on an independent contract basis.
This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week for at least 6 months and is classified as mid to senior level.
Candidates must have 4-5+ years of relevant experience and must be located in the United States for consideration.
The Data Democratization, Governance & Strategy team focuses on making data accessible and actionable for all business end-users.
The role involves re-architecting and optimizing the reporting layer of the Snowflake data warehouse to improve cost efficiency and compute optimization.
Responsibilities include evaluating and optimizing the reporting layer, developing strategies to improve query performance, and collaborating with the data engineering team.
The contractor will utilize advanced analytic engineering techniques, design efficient data models, and implement best practices for data loading and retrieval.

Requirements:

Candidates must have proven experience working with Snowflake data warehouse, including optimization projects.
Strong expertise in analytic engineering techniques within Snowflake, such as query optimization, indexing, and partitioning, is required.
A deep understanding of Snowflake's architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage optimization, and clustering keys, is necessary.
Proficiency in SQL and data modeling for Snowflake is essential.
Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline optimization is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex performance issues are necessary.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders are essential.
Candidates should be self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing optimizations.

The position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $80 - $90 USD.
The role is flexible and allows for 100% remote work.
