Description:

  • CycloTech GmbH is seeking a Freelance UAV Embedded Software Engineer to work on implementing custom flight stack for drones or UAVs.
  • The engineer will collaborate with the engineering team to develop and optimize embedded systems for advanced autonomous platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in real-time operating systems (RTOS) like NuttX and ChibiOS, and familiarity with Linux for higher-powered UAVs.
  • Strong understanding of UAV flight dynamics, control systems, and sensor fusion algorithms.
  • Experience with CAN, UAVCAN, I2C, UART, SPI, Mavlink protocols, and integrating sensors and actuators into the PX4 architecture.
  • Knowledge of CMake build systems and configuring build environments.
  • Hands-on experience in UAV embedded testing and troubleshooting in both hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with UAV Simulation software (SITL) such as Gazebo.
  • Advantageous to have knowledge of Matlab and Simulink (UAV toolbox).
