Mastodon gGmbH is seeking a talented Front-end Developer (m/f/d) to join their small core team.
The role involves collaborating with designers and developers to create user-centered interfaces for the Mastodon platform.
Responsibilities include developing, refining, and implementing front-end components using modern tools and technologies.
The developer will debug and optimize for performance to ensure smooth, consistent user experiences.
The position requires working closely with the team to improve usability and accessibility across all aspects of the platform.
Documentation of front-end workflows and design patterns for open-source contributions is also part of the job.
The team operates fully remote with flexible hours, requiring at least a 4-hour crossover with the Paris/Berlin timezone (10:00-18:00 CET).

Requirements:

Candidates must be highly skilled in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (TypeScript).
Proficiency in creating responsive designs using modern CSS is required.
Experience in collaborating with designers to translate UI/UX mockups into clean, maintainable code is essential.
Proficiency in architecting complex React and Redux applications is necessary.
Candidates should be able to create accessible and inclusive web applications that comply with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
Attention to detail with a strong emphasis on UX and design systems consistency is important.
Knowledge of semantic HTML and recent evolutions of the web platform is required.
