Description:

Udacity is seeking Front-End Software Engineers to build and enhance products that support mentor-driven services.
The role involves collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to create and improve tools and applications for mentors, staff, and students.
Responsibilities include developing, testing, and maintaining scalable front-end applications using NextJS, React, and TypeScript.
The engineer will gather requirements and design solutions that meet the needs of content creators and maintainers.
The position requires optimizing and enhancing existing user interfaces for performance and reliability.
The engineer will implement and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, utilizing tools such as Cypress or Playwright for end-to-end testing.
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to front-end tools is also part of the job.
Participation in code reviews and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement is expected.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience in a product-oriented role.
A strong background in building scalable and performant front-end applications is required.
Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, delivering, and maintaining production-quality user interfaces is essential.
Experience with React is a must.
Nice-to-haves include experience with Chakra UI, GraphQL, NextJS, Redux Toolkit, TypeScript, Cypress or Playwright for testing, and familiarity with accessibility best practices.
Candidates should have the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
