Description:

We are looking for a frontend software engineer who thinks in components and cares deeply about creating reusable, scalable UI systems.
You will work closely with design and backend teams to build high-quality, accessible user interfaces using modern frontend tools.
As a Front End Software Engineer at SMG, you will build and maintain frontend applications using React and Next.js.
You will develop and grow a shared component library using Storybook and Tailwind CSS.
You will apply component-driven development practices to ensure consistency and reusability.
You will prioritize accessibility and performance in everything you build.
You will collaborate with designers and engineers to turn ideas into polished, production-ready interfaces.
You will work with APIs to bring dynamic data into the frontend.
Occasionally, you will interact with SQL databases or backend services.

Requirements:

You must have solid experience building React applications.
Familiarity with Next.js or similar meta-frameworks is required.
A strong understanding of Tailwind CSS and utility-first styling is necessary.
You should have experience creating and maintaining design systems or component libraries.
A component-first mindset and a keen eye for detail and reusability are essential.
You must have awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
Bonus points for experience with SQL, REST/GraphQL APIs, or other backend integration work.
You should be comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools for automating workflows is preferred.
A basic understanding of Angular applications is a plus.
You should have the ability to read and understand .NET code, including C# and ASP.NET.
