The Frontend Engineer will be responsible for building user-facing aspects of an innovative tax platform, creating intuitive and efficient experiences for CPAs.
The role involves tackling challenges such as building a collaborative tax workbench, developing dynamic forms and workflows, managing complex client state transitions, and ensuring application performance and scalability.
The tech stack includes Next.js, Typescript, Python (FastAPI, pyright, pydantic), Postgres, Cloud Run, CI/CD, and code reviews.

Requirements:

Candidates must have proven experience in building complex, modern web applications, ideally with React and Next.js.
A strong proficiency in Typescript and a deep understanding of frontend best practices are required.
Applicants should have existing comfort integrating AI tools into their workflows.
A product sense is necessary, with the ability to think from the user’s perspective and understand product/engineering tradeoffs.
Excellent technical communication skills are essential, especially in a remote, async-first environment.
A pragmatic approach to engineering is important, valuing shipping and iteration while caring about code quality and thoughtful design.
Candidates should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to operate effectively with minimal guidance.
Fluency with AI tools like coding assistants is a baseline requirement.
The ability to respectfully challenge others’ ideas and have one’s own challenged is important.
Candidates must be comfortable owning projects and working with high autonomy.
