Description:
LaunchDarkly is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to join the Error Monitoring & Session Replay team, focusing on building a new product line.
The role is part of the Release Observability pillar, aimed at making software releases safer, faster, and more reliable.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional partners to architect and advance error monitoring and session replay products.
The engineer will drive end-to-end feature development, ensuring robust observability into system behavior and customer usage patterns post-launch.
The position involves identifying opportunities for product and user experience improvements and leading the implementation of enhancements.
The engineer will provide mentorship and support to teammates, guiding them through complex challenges.
Active participation in code reviews, spec reviews, and architecture design is expected to ensure best practices and maintainability.
The role includes advancing engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the technology organization.
Staying updated on frontend development trends and suggesting improvements in tools and methodologies is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on frontend development or equivalent skills.
Proficiency in modern JavaScript libraries and tooling, particularly React, is required.
Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs is necessary.
Candidates should have experience working directly with customers and understanding the impact of their work on business goals.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering impactful solutions is essential.
Proven ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, such as product and design teams, is required.
Experience in building data-focused products, such as experimentation platforms or analytics dashboards, is preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to write clean, well-documented, and testable code with a focus on maintainability.
A strong understanding of observability and monitoring tools and practices is necessary.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are required.
A proactive and self-directed approach to work is essential.
Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and working with distributed teams is preferred.
Benefits:
The target pay ranges for the position vary based on geographic zones, with Zone 1 (San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC) offering $167,000 - $208,700, Zone 2 (Boston, DC, etc.) offering $150,000 - $187,800, and Zone 3 (all other US locations) offering $141,900 - $177,400.
