Description:
Reddit is seeking a Frontend Engineer for the Moderation team, which is essential to the platform's success.
The role involves driving new features from end-to-end, including prototyping, validation, implementation, launch, and continuous iteration.
The engineer will help craft a modern user experience for accessing content and communities on Reddit.
Contributions to a Reddit design system and a component library will be expected to enable teams to work faster and with higher quality.
The position will focus 80% on frontend development and 20% on backend tasks as needed.
The engineer will be part of a team building a highly scalable, high-quality, and low-latency web platform.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in web application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, or other relevant languages.
Experience with one or more front-end web frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular is required.
Familiarity with Web Components or LitElement is a plus but not mandatory.
Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Java, Go, Scala) is necessary.
Deep experience with a modern web stack, including JavaScript bundlers and React internals, is expected.
Candidates should be familiar with software engineering best practices such as unit testing, code reviews, design, and documentation.
A passion for developing scalable, well-designed software that improves lives globally is essential.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to keep projects on schedule are required.
An entrepreneurial spirit, self-direction, innovation, and a bias towards action in fast-paced environments are important traits.
Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration in a fully remote environment.
A BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience is required.
