Description:
The Frontend Engineer for the Performance Platform at Canva will be responsible for providing tools to measure performance metrics accurately, testing performance in builds, identifying areas for performance improvement, collaborating with the team to find issues, and supporting company-wide initiatives for Open Telemetry.
The role involves working with performance profiling and debugging tools like Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, and WebPageTest.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for performance debugging, knowledge of common performance issues, experience with JavaScript and web technologies, and the ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components.
They should also be able to work with stakeholders across the company, be empathetic towards users experiencing slow performance, and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in computer science fundamentals.
Requirements:
Passion for performance debugging and benchmarking.
Knowledge of common performance issues in browsers.
Proficiency in JavaScript and web technologies (HTML/CSS).
Experience developing rich applications with HTML/CSS/JS.
Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components.
Experience with performance profiling and debugging tools.
Minimum 3 years of experience in computer science fundamentals.
