Description:

The Staff Frontend Engineer will help architect, build, deploy, and monitor ChowNow’s frontend applications.
This role involves working closely with other disciplines to build new features with an emphasis on quality.
The engineer will set standards, best practices, and continuously improve the development process.
This is a 100% hands-on coding role with a strong research and advocacy component.
The position is remote and located in British Columbia, Canada, reporting to an Engineering Manager with no direct reports.

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a technical lead or staff position.
Hands-on experience building responsive web applications using modern component frameworks like React is required.
Experience working with scalable, secure, performant micro-services in Python, Node.js, or a similar language is necessary.
The candidate should have experience in developing, launching, and supporting large-scale B2B and B2C SaaS products.
Ability to partner with Product, Design, QA, and other Engineering Leaders in an Agile environment is essential.
Candidates must be able to define metrics, instrument their measurement, and lead a team to achieve them.
A passion for rapid iteration and experimentation, viewing failures as learning opportunities, is important.

The expected base salary range is $180,500 - $199,500 CAD.
