Remote Frontend Software Engineer

Description:

• The Trust & Safety (T&S) Group at Canva aims to make the company the most trusted for safe design by building technologies to protect user safety and prevent abuse and fraud.
• The Frontend Software Engineer will support the Content Safety function by writing reusable code, building intuitive user experiences, and refactoring core parts of the application.
• Responsibilities include building efficient frontend components for content moderation, collaborating with product designers, defining best practices for frontend engineering, and identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks.
• The role involves working in a startup environment, understanding different teams, and improving frontend best practices.
• Required experience includes a minimum of 2 years developing rich web applications, understanding the product life cycle, and practical knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Nice to have skills include working with various partners, cross-browser and cross-device development, familiarity with cloud platforms, and experience in trust & safety, content moderation, fraud, or abuse.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience developing rich web applications, ideally Typescript/React/MobX.
• Understanding of the entire product life cycle, technical debt, QA, and delivering value against company goals.
• Experience working with a design system or maintaining components other teams depend on.
• Practical knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
