HackerRank is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to work remotely within the United States.
The role is full-time and focuses on building a platform for developers to showcase their skills and get hired.
The engineer will have significant ownership of products and engineering, contributing to the world’s leading technical interview platform.
Responsibilities include building systems for screening, interviews, and enhancing the developer experience across products.
The engineer will help scale products to support over 100K concurrent users during large remote hiring events.
The position involves creating a world-class developer experience on the cloud, including features like coding editors, autocomplete, and linting.
The engineer will also mentor interns and deliver essential product and tech initiatives.
Collaboration with product designers and managers is essential to improve workflows and user experience for various personas.
The role includes building uniform software front-end components for use across the organization and improving web performance metrics.
Participation in setting coding standards and reviewing code quality is expected.
The engineer will work with other team members on organization-wide initiatives to enhance software quality and user experience.
Requirements:
Candidates should be strong, self-motivated individuals eager to learn and contribute to key product and tech initiatives.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in JavaScript-based UI frameworks, with a strong preference for ReactJS, is required.
Proficiency in fundamental JavaScript is necessary, and candidates should be willing to acknowledge gaps in their knowledge.
Practical knowledge of HTML and CSS is essential.
Experience with frontend tooling such as Webpack and Babel is required.
Candidates must have hands-on experience in frontend debugging and testing.
A keen attention to quality and experience in setting or using good coding standards for front-end development is expected.
Knowledge of various browser environments and experience in building multiscreen applications is a bonus.
Candidates should have a metrics-driven approach, particularly regarding web performance and optimization.
