Description:

  • HackerRank is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to work remotely within the United States.
  • The role is full-time and focuses on building a platform for developers to showcase their skills and get hired.
  • The engineer will have significant ownership of products and engineering, contributing to the world’s leading technical interview platform.
  • Responsibilities include building systems for screening, interviews, and enhancing the developer experience across products.
  • The engineer will help scale products to support over 100K concurrent users during large remote hiring events.
  • Key tasks involve partnering with product designers and managers, creating uniform software front-end components, and improving web performance metrics.
  • The role includes mentoring interns and participating in setting coding standards and reviewing code quality.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in JavaScript-based UI frameworks, preferably ReactJS.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of JavaScript is required, along with practical experience in HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with frontend tooling such as Webpack and Babel is necessary.
  • Candidates must have hands-on experience in frontend debugging and testing.
  • Attention to quality and experience in setting coding standards for front-end development is essential.
  • Knowledge of browser environments and experience in building multiscreen applications is a bonus.
  • A metrics-driven approach, especially regarding web performance and optimization, is important.
  • Nice to have skills include fullstack experience (Ruby), understanding of frontend security, exposure to other frameworks, knowledge of backend APIs, and familiarity with TypeScript.
