Description:
Develop enterprise-scale software applications as part of a multi-disciplinary development team to support the implementation of Federal policies and regulations that protect human health and the environment.
Implement system enhancements based on requirements provided by subject matter experts.
Migrate legacy applications to modern technology stacks and cloud-based environments.
Assess and advise on technology options for application components.
Assist in integrating applications with Agency shared services that provide functionalities such as authentication and data exchange.
Complete assigned tasks following an agile development framework, support development sprints, and use tools such as Jira and Confluence to track progress and maintain technical documentation.
Adhere to rigorous security best practices, maintain high coding standards, and follow meticulous deployment procedures.
Participate in agile/scrum team ceremonies and status meetings with clients.
Requirements:
A BA/BS (or minor) in Digital and Computational Studies, Computer Science, or related interdisciplinary majors or related fields (e.g., mathematics, science, engineering) is required.
4-6 years of demonstrated development experience working on front-end, back-end, and database implementations is necessary.
Experience developing web applications using modern frameworks, such as React/Redux, Angular, or Vue.js is required.
Proficiency in Node.js and familiarity with common node frameworks is essential.
Proficiency in developing and programming databases, especially PostgreSQL, is required.
Experience interfacing with databases using Object-Relational Mapping frameworks such as Hibernate, Entity Framework, and TypeORM is necessary.
Experience with Cloud architecture, such as AWS, Azure, or Cloud.gov is required.
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation is essential.
Comfort in working in an Agile environment and using Lean/Agile delivery practices is necessary.
Experience using CI/CD tools and systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc., is required.
Possession of technical expertise, creativity, and a passion for architecting and implementing complex solutions is essential, with interests in staying at the forefront of technologies, such as AI.
Demonstration of curiosity and embrace of continuous learning, proficiency in mastering new skills, and mentoring teammates is required.
