Description:
This role requires expertise in backend development using Python and Golang, with a preference for candidates familiar with Node.js.
Experience in DevOps, containerization, and AWS-based deployment is crucial.
You will be responsible for building scalable backend systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless deployment through CI/CD pipelines.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance backend services, building and maintaining RESTful and event-driven APIs, and managing databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
You will deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, develop and manage containerized applications using Docker, and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Ensuring backend security, implementing API authentication, and optimizing system performance are also part of your duties.
You will set up logging, monitoring, and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
Collaboration with frontend, ML, and data teams to integrate services effectively is expected.
This is a part-time role requiring 20 hours per week, with mandatory attendance at standup meetings at 10am EST.
Requirements:
Strong experience in Python and Golang for backend development is required.
Knowledge of Node.js is a plus.
Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EKS, and IAM is necessary.
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration is essential.
Proficiency in GitHub Actions and other CI/CD tools is required.
A solid understanding of API development, microservices, and event-driven architectures is necessary.
Experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases is required.
Strong knowledge of networking, security practices, and performance optimization is essential.
Experience in monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch is necessary.
Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka or Redpanda is a plus.
Preferred qualifications include experience with high-performance, low-latency systems, understanding of DevSecOps best practices, and previous experience in financial markets or data-intensive applications.
