Remote Full Stack Developer (Part-time)

Description:

• Satellite builds dedicated engineering teams for successful American startups and seeks a driven, smart, and confident Full-stack Developer to join their team on a part-time basis, working 20 hours per week.
• The developer will be part of a dedicated engineering team for a U.S.-based edtech startup, Runestone Academy.
• Runestone Academy is a non-profit organization that offers free, interactive textbooks and resources to support students and educators in learning computer science and other STEM subjects.
• The platform features coding exercises, quizzes, and interactive content, aiming to democratize access to quality computer science education through technology.
• Responsibilities include assisting in bug fixes and feature requests, providing first-line support to instructors, monitoring and fine-tuning Cloudflare rules, building and pushing weekly updates to the Docker registry and server, and engaging with the community on Discord and Google Groups.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have a strong Junior or Middle experience level.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be resourceful in learning and solving problems is essential.
• Proficiency in some of the following programming languages and tools is required: Python, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, React, and familiarity with the command line.
• Candidates must be self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a collaborative online environment such as Discord and Google Groups.
• Understanding and experience of working in a startup environment is necessary.
• A great level of verbal and written English, at least Upper-intermediate (B2 and up), is required.
