Opencare is a fully remote organization open to applicants across Canada for the Full Stack Engineer position.
The mission of Opencare is to reinvent how dentists run their practices, allowing them to focus on providing exceptional patient care.
The engineering team is looking for a versatile Full Stack Engineer to support their creative, passionate, and user-focused team.
The role involves managing projects and influencing the strategic direction of the product.
The engineer will work closely with the Director of Engineering and cross-functionally to integrate AI into development processes and enhance user experience.
Responsibilities include designing a user interface that provides a delightful experience, integrating AI and LLMs while respecting HIPAA constraints, and owning the UI design and software development process.
The engineer will contribute to the ideation, technical design, implementation, and testing of product features.
The role also involves exploring AI tooling to improve team productivity and product quality, ensuring a user-centric product, and identifying improvements to the technical stack.
Infrastructure work, including cloud resources and database tuning, will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience developing applications, both frontend and backend.
Demonstrated experience using AI tools and LLMs to enhance development workflows or product features is required.
Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), SEO optimization, and responsive design is necessary.
Strong skills in SQL and relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, are essential.
Hands-on experience with version control systems, especially Git, is required.
Candidates should be comfortable with modern product design tools like Figma and collaborating closely with product and design teams.
Web development experience in fast-paced environments, building responsive applications for both desktop and mobile, is expected.
Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React or Angular, along with strong CSS skills, is necessary.
Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, customer experience, and design teams are essential.
