Description:

Near Space Labs is seeking a proactive Full Stack Geospatial Software Engineer to drive the evolution of their petabyte-scale geospatial imagery pipeline.
The role involves ensuring the seamless flow of data and collaborating closely with data and software engineers.
Responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting data pipeline performance and reliability to deliver high-quality imagery to customers.
The engineer will work with React, Angular, Typescript, and vanilla JavaScript to design, build, and maintain tools for visualizing and analyzing geospatial data.
The position also requires maintaining and updating the proprietary mission control application and writing efficient, scalable Python APIs and web services.
Rapid generation of functional prototypes is also part of the job.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a professional software development environment.
Proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience in building efficient, scalable APIs is required, and experience with asynchronous programming is a plus.
Experience with Typescript and at least one commonly used framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc.) is necessary, along with proficiency in vanilla JavaScript.
Familiarity with front-end geospatial libraries such as Leaflet, Cesium, OpenLayers, Mapbox, or Google Maps is essential.
Knowledge of web mapping services, including WMS, WMTS, and XYZ tile services, is required.
An understanding of scalable microservices is necessary.
The ability to work autonomously while managing projects and deliverables in partnership with a product manager and engineering leadership is essential.

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $150,000, depending on location and experience.
