Description:
McLaren is seeking a Full Stack Java Engineer to join a highly skilled Agile team.
The candidate will be working on a major engineering transformation from legacy to modern cloud-native applications.
This role involves software development, solution design, and architecture, offering candidates the opportunity to develop and leverage full-stack capabilities.
The position is part of a transformative initiative, modernizing legacy systems into scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions.
The engineer will work with a cutting-edge tech stack while contributing to impactful projects in the financial services and auto finance sectors.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Java Spring Boot services and application components in the cloud.
The engineer will apply practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software fixes, enhancements, and new systems.
Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines is also part of the role.
Collaboration with architects and stakeholders to design robust and scalable software solutions is essential, considering system requirements and constraints.
The engineer will analyze complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions, balancing performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Writing unit tests, debugging, and troubleshooting issues to ensure software quality and reliability is required.
Identifying performance bottlenecks and optimizing code, database queries, and system architecture is expected.
The engineer will create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and deployment procedures.
Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes is part of the job.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget is necessary.
The engineer will develop, manage, build, and maintain the technical components related to server-side and web service-based solutions.
Participation in developing specifications for assigned components, projects, or fixes is required.
The engineer will interact and coordinate deliverables with other technical groups in the organization.
Requirements:
The candidate must have 4+ years of overall software development experience in enterprise systems.
A minimum of 4+ years of software development experience in Core Java is required.
The candidate should have 4+ years of experience with Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
At least 3+ years of experience in building microservices architecture and low-latency implementations is necessary.
The candidate must have 3+ years of full-stack engineering experience with JavaScript frameworks, specifically Angular or React.js.
Experience with Cloud SQL, Postgres, or MongoDB is required.
The candidate should have experience working with Google Cloud Platform and components such as Cloud Run, Cloud Load Balancing, APIGEE, and Cloud Armor.
In-depth knowledge of Agile Software Development practices and how to leverage these to streamline project execution is essential.
Familiarity with software engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and performance engineering is required.
The candidate should have a working knowledge of SDLC, especially regarding improving agile delivery metrics.
Strong communication and team/technical leadership skills are necessary.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is required.
Consulting experience is preferred.
Experience in the financial services sector is also preferred.
