Description:

  • Brightline is seeking a Senior/Staff Full Stack Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

  • The infrastructure runs on Docker containers in Aptible, with CI powered by GitHub Actions.
  • Continuous deployments are practiced through feature toggles and an extensive test suite.
  • Data is managed using PostgreSQL and Redis, with data collection and reporting facilitated by tools like Ahoy, FluentD, and Stitch, ultimately stored in Snowflake for reporting via Tableau.
  • The role involves collaborating on projects from scoping features to shipping them into production, writing code across the entire stack, and curating a great codebase through discussions, testing, and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have professional experience developing software with Ruby on Rails.
  • A passion for improving behavioral health for children, teens, and their families is essential.
  • The ability to collaborate with team members from various departments, including product and clinical teams, is required.
  • Candidates should take ownership of projects and see them through, beyond just coding.
  • Thoughtfulness and empathy in decision-making, execution, communication, and collaboration are important traits.
  • Interest in improving infrastructure and monitoring for web and native apps, as well as databases, is necessary.
  • Experience with frontend development, particularly with Hotwire, is preferred.
  • Bonus points for experience in healthcare, API development, and familiarity with Hotwire Native or similar mobile tools.
