Description:

  • As a Software Engineer, you will work directly with Product teams to build and scale services and features that enhance the shopping experience on Houzz.
  • You will be responsible for transforming high-level ideas into live products used by millions of homeowners and professionals worldwide.
  • Your role will involve building features for all parts of the web application, including libraries, widgets, and custom features.
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, product, and design teams.
  • The tech stack includes React, Node, GraphQL, Java, Python, AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, MySQL, Lucene/Solr, Redis, Kafka, Docker, and more.
  • Your work will have a direct impact on millions of users globally.

Requirements:

  • You must have proficiency in backend engineering and an understanding of web stack programming, from schema design to building services and integrating them into user-facing interfaces.
  • A desire to build an engaging consumer experience is essential.
  • A B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is required.
  • You should have at least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Ideally, you should possess independence, self-direction, and experience owning complete products and features.
  • Experience developing consumer-facing features for millions of consumers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and Lucene/Solr is a plus.
  • Comfort working on fast-paced, data-driven projects is desirable.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience is ideal.
