Remote Full stack/Backend Developer (Contractor)

Description:

• The position is for a Data Annotator - Full Stack/Backend Developer on a contract basis with Cohere, a company focused on scaling intelligence to serve humanity.
• The role involves training and deploying frontier models for AI systems like semantic search, RAG, and agents.
• The candidate will contribute to increasing the capabilities of models and driving value for customers by working on a wide variety of writing and code-based prompts.
• Responsibilities include ensuring data quality by creating well-written, technically sound samples for AI models, working in Python, SQL, Javascript, or Java.
• The Data Annotator will write prompt and code examples, label, proofread, and improve machine-written and human-written code, and follow the company's style guide.
• The role requires being located in Canada, the US, LATAM, or UK timezones and having strong comprehension skills, curiosity about ML or AI, and the ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of industry experience working on real code in full stack or backend.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: Java, Javascript, Python, or SQL.
• Experience with unit testing and a love for algorithms and competitive programming.
• Meticulous coding skills with an eye for readability and experience in code reviewing.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
