Description:

Employment Hero is seeking a Fullstack Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails to join their HR, Benefits, and Payroll Integration teams.
The role involves end-to-end fullstack development for new and existing cloud-based applications.
The engineer will work with a Ruby codebase in an AWS cloud environment utilizing EC2 and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities include navigating a complex SaaS product, collaborating with Product Owners on the technology roadmap, and designing solutions with the squad.
The engineer will be involved in new feature development, production improvements, debugging, and performing root cause analysis for application issues.
Quality assurance is key, as the engineer will perform tests and quality checks on their code, ensuring ownership of quality and security.
The role requires taking initiative in recommending improvements to the development process and proactively identifying application pain points.
Peer reviews of code changes and maintaining documentation for new or updated features are also part of the job.
The engineer will work closely with business stakeholders in an agile environment.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience with Ruby on Rails and a willingness to learn new languages and frameworks.
Knowledge of correct design patterns for code and the ability to transform existing code to implement them is required.
Experience in developing software using microservices or SOA architecture for deployment on public clouds, specifically AWS, is necessary.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working with Product teams is essential.
Quality coding practices, including test-driven development, unit testing, and secure coding awareness, are important for this role.
