Remote Fullstack Software Engineer - Fintech/Flexibility

Description:

• The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Fintech team in Vancouver and contribute to the evolution of travel selling and booking technology.
• The Fintech team is responsible for 50% of the company's overall revenue.
• The role involves crafting, implementing, and deploying sophisticated backend systems to enhance Hopper's user experience.
• The ideal candidate will work with a team of engineers, product, design, and data science to prioritize and implement new product features in an Agile environment.
• Responsibilities include planning projects, mentoring team members, writing and reviewing code, learning new technical concepts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and automating operational processes.

Requirements:

• Experience in Scala or other JVM languages like Kotlin or Java in a production setting.
• Proficiency in frontend technologies such as AngularJs and ReactJS.
• Strong understanding of system architecture to design scalable solutions.
• Skilled in service communication methods like gRPC, pub/sub, and REST.
• Experience deploying infrastructure using tools like Terraform.
• Commitment to enhancing system quality and reliability with excellent software engineering practices.
• Professional background in the travel or fintech industries with an understanding of their challenges and requirements.
