Description:

  • Quorum is a fast-growing software company based in Washington, D.C., providing workflow software and information services for government affairs professionals.
  • The company serves over 2,000 customers globally, including over 50% of the Fortune 100, and has over 350 team members worldwide.
  • As a FullStack Software Engineer II, you will contribute to developing high-quality datasets, operating data pipelines, and building services and APIs.
  • You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to design and launch new product features.
  • Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining data scrapers and spiders for efficient data collection from online sources.
  • You will uphold high data quality standards and address performance and scalability concerns while researching best practices in web scraping and data engineering.
  • In your first week, you will ship new code to production; in your first month, you will write code across several levels of the stack; within six months, you will take ownership of features; and by your first year, you will help guide technical decisions impacting the company.

Requirements:

  • You must have 3+ years of work experience in a software-producing company.
  • Professional experience in JavaScript and front-end technologies like React is required.
  • You should have experience writing application code in backend languages such as Python, .Net, Java, Go, or Node.js.
  • Familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle is necessary.
  • You should be familiar with SQL queries and Object Relational Mapping frameworks like Django.
  • A strong desire to mentor others through code review is essential.
  • You must care about code quality and have the drive to develop technical skills.
  • An interest in learning new development languages and platforms is expected.
  • You should be a highly-motivated self-starter eager to contribute from day one.
  • You must be an engaged learner, willing to tackle challenging problems.
  • A desire to work in a fun environment and contribute to team dynamics is important.
  • You should be ready to assist in various areas, including recruiting and customer support.
