Description:

Bixal is seeking a Generalist/Full Stack Engineer to support the Secure, Performant, Reliable, and User-Centered Experiences (SPRUCE) contract.
This role will involve developing and maintaining veteran-facing web applications, ensuring accessibility, scalability, and security.
The position is full-time and contingent on contract award, with a performance period of up to one year and the possibility of two one-year extensions.
Responsibilities include developing full-stack web applications for VA.gov, optimizing React-based front-end components, and integrating with Drupal-powered backends.
The engineer will also develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs, support cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, and implement accessibility standards.
Collaboration with UX researchers, designers, and content teams is essential to create intuitive digital experiences.
Participation in Agile sprints, code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing is expected.
Other relevant duties may be assigned based on qualifications and training.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Candidates must have experience in full-stack development with modern web technologies.
Proficiency in React, Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js is necessary.
Experience with Drupal, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies is required.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines is essential.
A strong understanding of web security best practices and performance optimization is needed.
Experience working in Agile development environments with cross-functional teams is required.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

The position offers a salary range of $120,000 - $130,000 a year.
