Description:

  • The Genetic Data Analyst will analyze, interpret, and manage large-scale genomic datasets to provide valuable insights into human health, disease, and genetic variation.
  • This role involves collaborating with bioinformaticians, geneticists, and researchers to analyze sequencing data and identify genetic variants.
  • Key responsibilities include performing in-depth analysis of genomic data, developing and maintaining data pipelines, and supporting precision medicine initiatives.
  • The analyst will create visualizations and reports to communicate complex genetic data effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity through robust checks is also a critical part of the job.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have extensive experience in analyzing and interpreting genomic data, including whole-genome sequencing, RNA-seq, and other high-throughput sequencing datasets.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl for data analysis and pipeline development is required.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like ggplot2, Matplotlib, or Seaborn is necessary for presenting genetic data clearly.
  • Knowledge of variant calling, annotation, and interpretation, including familiarity with tools like GATK, ANNOVAR, and SnpEff, is essential.
  • Strong collaboration skills are needed to work effectively with geneticists, bioinformaticians, and clinical researchers.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience valued.
  • A Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, or Bioinformatics is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in genetic data analysis, particularly with next-generation sequencing data.
