Description:
Hydrosat is a venture-backed space data analytics company focused on developing a new earth observation constellation and software for thermal infrared imagery.
The mission is to capture and deliver thermal infrared data to provide insights into crop health, drought and wildfire risk, industrial activity, and situational awareness for government and commercial customers.
The Geospatial Software Engineer will support the operations of Hydrosat’s earth observation constellation.
The role involves building software and services to produce data products from the earth observation system and delivering them to customers.
Candidates should be interested in using their software engineering skills to impact agriculture, climate, and public safety monitoring applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong fascination with thermal imaging, photography, and geography.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
Expert knowledge of Python is required.
Candidates should have expert knowledge of GDAL, OpenCV, or other open-source image processing libraries.
Experience with remote sensing, photogrammetry, or GIS data processing at high scale is necessary.
Candidates must have experience building production software systems for cloud computing deployments such as AWS or Google Cloud.
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
