Description:

  • The Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) at 66degrees work with large cloud users to maintain, optimize, and scale their cloud implementations using Google Cloud Platform expertise and devops methodologies.
  • SREs collaborate with clients on critical outages, deploying new cloud workloads, and creating self-healing automation using technologies like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Anthos, BigQuery, and tools like Prometheus and Datadog.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring near-zero downtime, creating automated and scalable systems, advising clients on DevOps and SRE practices, and providing proactive support for clients' workloads.
  • SREs work closely with clients, team members, and Google engineers to resolve infrastructure issues, manage project priorities, and contribute to initiatives like documentation and open-sourcing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of cloud and infrastructure experience with expertise in Linux, Windows, Kubernetes, databases, and networking services.
  • 1-2 years of full-time Google Cloud experience and proficiency in Python, with knowledge of other programming languages being a plus.
  • Strong skills in provisioning and configuration using Terraform, troubleshooting across systems, network, and code, and experience in 24x7 monitoring and incident response.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Server and SQL Server is advantageous, along with the ability to determine and negotiate Error budgets, SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs.
  • Experience in Agile Scrum, Kanban methodologies, and a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this customer-facing role.
