Description:

ARC Group is seeking a Hadoop Developer for a 100% remote contract position that runs through June 2026, with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment.
The role involves the design, development, and operations of systems that manage large amounts of data.
Candidates must have a background in computer software and a degree in information systems, software engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
Responsibilities include unit testing, release procedures, coding design, documentation protocol, and change management procedures.
Proficiency in versioning tools and a thorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems is required.
Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and be flexible team players.
The ability to manage tasks independently, learn from mistakes, and apply constructive feedback is essential.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of related work experience in the IT industry, with professional experience in technical design and coding.
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Spark and Scala in a Lead Developer role is required, focusing on design and scaling technology.
Strong cross-collaboration skills with different departments and teams are necessary.
Experience with Apache/Kafka and DB2 is required.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud platforms, specifically OpenShift, is essential.
A related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have permanent work authorization and be able to work for any employer without sponsorship.
