Remote Head of AI / Principal AI Engineer

Description:

• The Head of AI at Flip.shop will lead a visionary team focused on revolutionizing recommendation systems to enhance consumer engagement and maximize monetization opportunities.
• Reporting directly to the founder and CEO, this role plays a pivotal part in driving the company's growth trajectory.
• Responsibilities include spearheading the development of cutting-edge AI technologies, leading and mentoring a team of AI engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying ahead of industry trends, and optimizing AI-driven metrics.
• The position requires a balance of strategic leadership, hands-on expertise in AI model development, and a focus on innovation to maintain a competitive edge in the social commerce space.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in AI and machine learning, specifically in e-commerce and social networking environments.
• Hands-on experience in developing feed recommendation and/or ads ranking algorithms.
• Approximately 8+ years of experience in roles like Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Technical Lead, Senior Staff, or Principal Engineer.
• Proven leadership skills in tech-leading high-performing teams and driving impactful AI initiatives.
• Ability to conceptualize and execute AI strategies aligned with business objectives and market dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Genuine passion for leveraging AI to enhance user experiences and drive business growth in a dynamic startup environment.
