Description:
We are seeking a Health Data Analytics Engineer to join our team, focusing on constructing dbt data models for our healthcare analytics products and configuring the data pipelines that connect these models in production.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing, maintaining, and testing data models that serve critical product and business functions for our company.
You will work as part of our data engineering team to ensure seamless data integration, transformation, and validation according to our standards.
This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge data modeling techniques, improve data processes, and contribute to the success of our healthcare AI products.
You will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining dbt data models that support our healthcare analytics products.
Your responsibilities will include integrating and transforming customer data to conform to our data specifications and pipelines.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
You will configure and improve data pipelines that integrate and connect the data models.
Conducting QA and testing on data models to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance will also be part of your role.
You will apply industry standards and best practices around data modeling, testing, and data pipelining.
Participation in a rota with other data engineers and backend engineers to help investigate and resolve data-related issues is expected.
The role involves spending 60% of your time constructing and optimizing dbt data models, 30% performing QA and testing on data models and data pipelines, and 10% configuring and improving pipelines.
Requirements:
You must have 3+ years of analytics engineering experience in the healthcare industry, involving clinical and/or billing/claims data.
You should be very well-versed in SQL and ETL processes, with significant experience in dbt being a must.
Experience in a general-purpose programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Ruby is required.
Strong experience in data modeling and their implementation in production data pipelines is essential.
You should be comfortable with the essentials of data orchestration.
As a person, you should be detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare data and its use in making impactful contributions to improving the healthcare system.
You should find fulfillment in digging into complex data, uncovering subtle patterns, and implementing business logic to create resilient data models.
You must own and take full responsibility for tasks from initiation to completion.
Demonstrating versatility and proficiency in navigating complex processes is important.
You should approach ambiguity with an open mind, experiment with potential solutions, and know when to seek assistance.
Employing pragmatism in selecting the most straightforward and effective solution for tasks is necessary.
