Description:
IMPRINT is a biomedical Focused Research Organization (FRO) studying the hidden causes of chronic disease, especially autoimmune and psychiatric disorders.
The organization conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of immunology, neuroscience, and behavior.
The position is for a Computational Biologist/Machine Learning Scientist/Biostatistician with experience in computational modeling and analysis of large-scale biological datasets.
The successful candidate will develop novel mathematical, simulation, and machine-learning methods to advance the understanding of adaptive immune receptor repertoires.
The role involves close collaboration with other computational and experimental scientists to develop groundbreaking insights into adaptive immunity.
The ideal candidate would be based in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, but exceptional candidates from the US and Canada are also welcome.
Primary responsibilities include developing mathematical, computational, and machine learning approaches for modeling large-scale immune receptor sequence and/or structural data, creating novel simulation frameworks for immune repertoire analysis, performing deep analyses for data-intensive experiments, preparing large-scale datasets for internal and external usage, and expanding knowledge with new methods and concepts.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in computational biology, physics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related fields is required.
A proven track record of developing computational analyses for biological data is necessary.
A background in machine learning is required.
Proficiency with Python, associated analyses and visualization packages, and command line is essential.
Proficiency in high-performance computing is required.
Proficiency with good practices for reproducible research, including git and Jupyter, is necessary.
