Description:

The role is for a System Administrator with a focus on information security, responsible for system administration and security management.
The System Administrator will maintain upgrades, perform maintenance, and handle installations for employees.
This position involves educating employees and serving as the first point of contact for technical support.
Key responsibilities include monitoring user accounts, implementing security controls, researching new security technologies, and enhancing team competencies.
The role requires planning security systems, determining security requirements, and implementing security measures.
The System Administrator will also support compliance with standards and develop risk-based mitigation strategies.
Additional duties include server administration, monitoring for bugs, and performing routine audits and backups.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science is required.
Competence in Bash scripting is necessary.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure.
Clear written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Experience with industry-leading vulnerability scanners and understanding of vulnerability landscapes is required.
Familiarity with Common Vulnerability Scoring methodology is preferred.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is important.
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in IAAS and PAAS on a global scale is required.
Strong experience with cloud virtualization technologies, specifically Docker and AWS, is necessary.
Familiarity with the AWS shared responsibility model from a security perspective is required.
Time management skills are essential.
Prior technical support experience is necessary.
Strong knowledge of operating systems, technology, and performance-monitoring tools is required.
Specific skills in Linux administration, AWS, Debian, Nagios or Icinga, DNS, HAProxy, Nginx, and FreePBX are preferred.
