Description:
The position is for an Information Security Engineer to support the Global Security Services group, focusing on implementing and operating proactive defenses.
The Security Engineer will work closely with Security and IT practice leads to ensure tools and agents are properly configured, fully deployed, and operating as expected.
Responsibilities include research, testing, implementation of new solutions, and maintenance of current solutions.
Key performance indicators include percent coverage, health of tooling and operations, recurrence of known issues, and attainment of security risk targets.
The candidate must have a strong hands-on technical background and demonstrate operational, engineering, and security expertise at all layers of the OSI stack.
The role requires collaboration with other teams and the ability to diagnose and anticipate issues based on knowledge of the operating environment and standard technology stacks.
Creative thinking and programming expertise are necessary to automate routine tasks and ensure the long-term viability of implemented solutions.
Specific responsibilities include translating complex business and technical requirements into effective solutions, managing SIEM(s) and related data flows, providing transparency about security platforms, and maintaining expertise in IT security vulnerabilities and threats.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in information security engineering is required.
Familiarity with NIST and ISO 27000 security practice frameworks is essential.
Extensive hands-on experience with Splunk and other security infrastructures such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Proxies is necessary.
Candidates must have experience operating common IT infrastructures, including Telecom, database, Windows, and *NIX systems, as well as virtualization platforms.
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages, such as Python and Powershell, is required.
Familiarity with relevant international and U.S. regulations, including NYDFS, SOX, GDPR, and DORA, is necessary.
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Professional security management certification, such as CISSP, GISP, GSE, or GCED, is preferred.
Experience in application or infrastructure penetration testing, configuration automation practices, and managing Cloud infrastructures is highly valued.
