Description:
The Information Security Engineer II is responsible for configuring, improving, modifying, and evaluating security tools and services in a hosting-based environment.
This role specializes in conducting technology and system assessments while providing technical consultation to customers, ensuring unparalleled world-class service.
As technology evolves, the engineer must adapt to the necessary safety measures, supporting Rackspace Cloud products and staying relevant in cybersecurity news.
The engineer will partner with additional teams and third-party vendors to resolve security vulnerabilities and respond to all security weak points.
Successful candidates will leverage systems such as web application firewalls, network security tools, database encryption, anti-virus solutions, file integrity monitoring, and network authentication to achieve exceptional customer outcomes.
The role emphasizes creating and maintaining customer loyalty by providing Fanatical Support that exceeds customer expectations.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess intermediate knowledge of security concepts, principles, and technologies.
Experience with the configuration, investigation, and analysis of Web Application Firewall (WAF) blocked events, specifically with Imperva WAF and Incapsula, is required.
Knowledge of common web security vulnerabilities and recommended remediation strategies is essential.
Candidates should have experience in configuring and supporting log management tools, such as Alert Logic.
Proficiency in configuring firewall appliances, including Cisco ASA/ASA-X/Firepower and Juniper SRX, is necessary.
Experience with load balancer appliances, such as F5 LTM and Citrix Netscaler, is required.
Understanding of IPSEC and SSL VPN technologies is essential.
Candidates must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity using industry-standard packet capture tools.
Familiarity with services and protocols commonly used in hosting environments, including web servers, database servers, mail servers, and name servers, is required.
Knowledge of networking concepts and devices across all OSI layers is necessary.
Experience with Windows and Linux operating system administration is required.
Understanding of public cloud security architectures, best practices, and services is essential.
Candidates should be able to provide guidance on different deployment strategies and maintain up-to-date vendor-related roadmaps and scheduled releases.
Experience executing device firmware upgrades across various platforms based on security requirements and feature updates is necessary.
