Description:

  • Leaseweb is looking for a highly motivated Storage Engineer to join their Branded Cloud team in Amsterdam, with remote work available within the EU and relocation options to the Netherlands.
  • The Branded Cloud team delivers virtualized computing and storage solutions, designing, building, and supporting these solutions based on VMware and NetApp technology.
  • The team consists of approximately 90 engineers working in small scrum teams with end-to-end responsibility for specific products or parts of the architecture.
  • The work environment is remote-first, with in-person meetings at the Amsterdam headquarters twice a year.
  • The organizational structure is flat, promoting independence and entrepreneurship in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
  • As a Storage Engineer, responsibilities include managing worldwide storage platforms, participating in a devops team, and handling tasks from simple maintenance to complex projects.
  • Key responsibilities include researching new technologies, collaborating with departments and vendors, supporting the sales team, maintaining customer relationships, ensuring service uptime, and providing third-level support.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with storage products such as SAN, NAS, Object Storage, and protocols like NFS, iSCSI, and CIFS, with a requirement for NetApp experience and desirability for other solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including Active Directory, DNS, and Servers.
  • Experience with Linux distributions such as CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian.
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages, including Powershell, Python, Perl, or Bash, as well as Chef or Ansible.
  • Strong team player who supports a culture of trust, autonomy, and collaboration.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage.
