Description:

Telnyx is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their infrastructure team, which is building a next-generation platform across multiple cloud providers and continents.
The role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable solutions for managing various databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis in both virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
The engineer will collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve pain points in managing large-scale, high-availability database infrastructure.
Responsibilities include leading the migration of existing database services from VMs to Kubernetes, supporting disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems, as well as implementing and managing observability, logging, and alerting systems.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, particularly in Linux-based systems.
Expertise in at least one deployment and orchestration technology such as Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform is required, with a focus on deploying and managing stateful applications.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or Python is necessary to automate workflows and manage infrastructure.
Hands-on experience managing at least one relational database, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, is essential.
Experience with non-relational databases like Cassandra or OpenSearch, and familiarity with streaming and messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ, is preferred.
Proficiency in observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is advantageous.
Knowledge of service discovery tools like Consul is a bonus.
