Flexcompute is seeking an Integrated Photonics Application Engineer to support the PhotonForge photonics design automation engine.
The role involves driving the adoption and success of PhotonForge in both academic and industry settings in the US and worldwide.
Responsibilities include developing application examples and user guides for PhotonForge features, and assisting users in leveraging its capabilities to meet their design goals.
The position requires building strong relationships with researchers, professors, industry professionals, and students.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the integrated photonics design cycle, including simulation, fabrication, and measurement.
The role is suited for individuals who excel in problem-solving and engaging with people.
A technical background in electromagnetics and programming experience in Python are essential.

Requirements:

A degree in physics, engineering, or a related technical field is required.
Demonstrated experience in the integrated photonics product life-cycle, including design, simulation, layout, tape-out, and validation is necessary. Experience with integrated photonics fabrication and testing is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to model, simulate, and analyze complex multi-physics simulation problems.
Proficiency in Python programming and experience with relevant libraries for scientific computing and numerical analysis, such as NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib, is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with the user community and for delivering high-quality documentation.
Experience in using Tidy3D and other Flexcompute products is preferred.
Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.) is desirable.
