Remote Intermediate Backend Engineer

Description:

• OfferZen is seeking an Intermediate Backend Engineer to contribute to their mission of unlocking human potential through technology.
• The role involves working on the marketplace product squad to enhance the experience and success rate for users and operational teams.
• Responsibilities include designing, testing, and shipping backend code weekly to build impactful features, collaborating with the delivery team on backend architecture, and sharing knowledge through code reviews and pair programming.
• The engineer will work with various systems and technologies, uphold engineering standards, debug production issues, document feature designs, and contribute to the technical and product roadmap.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in software development.
• A strong problem-solving ability that combines product design, process, and technical aspects is essential.
• Experience with an MVC framework in a production environment, such as Rails, Laravel, Django, or Express.js, is required.
• Proficiency in writing tests for new functionality and creating documentation for feature designs is necessary.
• Familiarity with databases, particularly MongoDB, is a bonus.
• Candidates should possess backend fundamentals, including automation, databases, server-side programming languages, web frameworks, data access and management, and security.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work remotely are important.
• A team player who values learning, self-improvement, and can balance attention to detail with a broader context is preferred.
