Description:

  • Darkhorse Analytics is an Edmonton-based consulting firm specializing in predictive analytics and data visualization.
  • Darkhorse Emergency, a division of the company, provides software and custom analytics for fire, EMS, and police services to make data-driven decisions.
  • The role involves working with a team to build and maintain the application suite, support analysts, and solve clients' unique problems.
  • Responsibilities include building data visualizations, designing new features, fixing bugs, maintaining code quality, improving development processes, researching new technologies, and mentoring other developers.

Requirements:

  • Motivation to make an impact and see real-world results from the software developed.
  • Willingness to learn new things and be a generalist in a small team environment.
  • Experience in building software end-to-end and understanding the implications of decisions across the stack.
  • Ability to take ownership of solutions and value autonomy in work.
  • Skill in juggling priorities, communicating technical ideas effectively, and creatively problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in tech stack including TypeScript/JavaScript, VueJS/React/Angular/Svelte, Node + Express, GraphQL, Postgres/MySQL, AWS/GCP/Azure, and Terraform.
  • Alignment with company values and legal ability to work in Canada.
