Description:

  • As an Intermediate Infrastructure Security Engineer at GitLab, you will be part of the Infrastructure Security Team in the Product Security Department.
  • Your main responsibility will be to ensure the resiliency and security of the components in GitLab's public cloud infrastructure.
  • You will focus on automation efforts for the upcoming GitLab Dedicated for Government product.
  • Supporting the Public Sector SRE team and securing GitLab's FedRAMP environment will be key aspects of your role.
  • You will work on identifying and mitigating security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities in GitLab's cloud, container, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Building tooling to enhance visibility into environments for faster vulnerability detection and documenting best practices for engineers are also part of your tasks.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to review new architectures and projects to ensure they meet rigorous security standards is essential.
  • You will contribute to fulfilling the Product Security Division Mission by securing GitLab Infrastructure with the product itself.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
  • Proficiency in Ruby, Python, and Go for development is necessary.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef is essential.
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system is a must.
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) is expected.
  • An interest in Information Security is a key requirement.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative work with cross-functional teams is necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively over text-based mediums like Slack, GitLab Issues, and Email is required.
  • Alignment with GitLab's values and working in accordance with those values is essential.
