Description:
As an Intermediate Infrastructure Security Engineer at GitLab, you will be part of the Infrastructure Security Team in the Product Security Department.
Your main responsibility will be to ensure the resiliency and security of the components in GitLab's public cloud infrastructure.
You will focus on automation efforts for the upcoming GitLab Dedicated for Government product.
Supporting the Public Sector SRE team and securing GitLab's FedRAMP environment will be key aspects of your role.
You will work on identifying and mitigating security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities in GitLab's cloud, container, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
Building tooling to enhance visibility into environments for faster vulnerability detection and documenting best practices for engineers are also part of your tasks.
Collaborating with senior engineers to review new architectures and projects to ensure they meet rigorous security standards is essential.
You will contribute to fulfilling the Product Security Division Mission by securing GitLab Infrastructure with the product itself.
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with public cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure is required.
Proficiency in Ruby, Python, and Go for development is necessary.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef is essential.
Knowledge of the Linux operating system is a must.
Familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) is expected.
An interest in Information Security is a key requirement.
Demonstrated experience in collaborative work with cross-functional teams is necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively over text-based mediums like Slack, GitLab Issues, and Email is required.
Alignment with GitLab's values and working in accordance with those values is essential.
