Zensurance is a scale-up InsurTech company re-imagining the commercial insurance market to empower small businesses across Canada.
The company is looking for an Intermediate Software Developer to join the Core team in the Engineering Department.
This role involves building software that powers Zensurance's data collection, rating, and pricing engines using NodeJS and TypeScript.
The developer will report to the Team Lead, Engineering, and is responsible for implementing and delivering software features following best practices.
The Core team focuses on enhancing the company's key goals, such as adding relevant insurance products and delivering documents to customers efficiently.
The position requires coaching and mentoring lower-level professionals and assisting the Engineering Leadership Team in improving craft capabilities.
This is a remote-first role within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Requirements:

A university degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational, or academic program, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in building rich, complex web or mobile applications is necessary.
Fullstack experience with NodeJS/NestJS/AWS and the TypeScript ecosystem is required.
Front-end experience with React/TypeScript is essential.
A passion for writing clean, reusable, and well-structured code is expected.
Continuous learning and self-improvement are highly valued.
Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required.
The ability to work collaboratively with team members is essential.
Prior knowledge of the insurance domain is an asset but not mandatory.
