Description:

  • Join the Payroll & Compensation team to enable payrolls and streamline compensation for customers.
  • Be a key player in establishing and shaping the new team that contributes directly to Jane’s mission.
  • Work remotely from anywhere in Canada.
  • Solve challenging problems and improve customer experience.

  • Contribute to the Jane codebase, focusing on payroll and compensation workflows.
  • Implement changes and experiments across the frontend and backend stack.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional groups to ship impactful features.
  • Produce high-quality, well-tested code to ensure a reliable product.
  • Make effective tradeoffs considering business priorities, user experience, and technical foundation.
  • Participate in code reviews, production deploys, and team activities to support continuous improvement and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • Strong understanding of development best practices, modern technologies, and design patterns.
  • Experience in backend languages (Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, Python) or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and earn trust from co-workers at all levels.
  • Comfortable navigating codebases with different languages and tools.
  • Experience in ensuring great user experience and ease of use of features and products.
  • Interest in financial products and markets is a plus.
