Remote Intermediate Software Engineer

Description:

• Athennian is seeking a driven Intermediate Software Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team.
• The role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable software solutions to enhance the platform's functionality and performance.
• The engineer will report to the Director of Development and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
• Responsibilities include developing, testing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that align with business needs.
• The engineer will participate in technical discussions and contribute to key decisions on system design and best practices.
• The role requires working with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate user needs into innovative features and improvements.
• The engineer will optimize application performance, ensure security and reliability, and conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Identifying and resolving technical challenges, proposing solutions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes are also key responsibilities.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and exploring emerging technologies to enhance the platform is expected.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in software development, focusing on building scalable and high-performance applications.
• Proficiency in the MEAN stack (MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas, Express.js, Angular, Node.js) is required.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is necessary.
• A strong understanding of database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL solutions, is essential.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React is a plus.
• Experience with AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making is considered an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently or in a team environment are required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, along with a desire to grow and learn, are important.
